Captain Dave Koss graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Physics and later earned his master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College. He received his Naval Aviation wings of gold in March of 1995. He served in numerous operational strike-fighter squadrons to include VFA-87, VFA-14, TOPGUN and the Blue Angels. He accumulated over 3700 hours in F/A-18 aircraft and amassed over 740 carrier arrested landings. He completed 6 international deployments and led the first Navy strikes into Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. He served as a military planner on a joint staff for the U. S. Indio-Pacific command and as an executive assistant in the Pentagon.
Captain Koss commanded four organizations to include Strike Fighter Squadron Fourteen, the Blue Angels, the NROTC unit at the University of Texas and Strike Fighter Wing Pacific. His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit (3 wards), Bronze Star for heroic achievement in a combat zone, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Combat V (two awards), the Strike Flight Air Medal (four awards), LT Charles Nelson and LCDR Mike Longardt leadership awards, and numerous other campaign and service awards.
Post Military Service, Dave served for 2 years as Vice President of HR Americas, Leadership and Values Coach, and Talent Development Lead at o9 Solutions, a 2500 personnel technology company. He currently serves as the General Manager of the Million Air FBO in Austin Texas.
