TSB's Executive Business Curriculum

For owner-operated business leaders, the Executive Business curriculum is designed to leverage your existing experience and give you the additional depth of knowledge to take your firm and career to the next level without interrupting the management of your existing business. The program targets overall leadership development as well as foundational principles to give you the tools to grow your business and communicate in the ever complex business world in which we operate.

The program will be held over three trimesters beginning July 2018. There will be two three-hour sessions monthly targeting foundational and functional knowledge useful to the business owner. In addition, participants will be responsible for outside work equal to two hours for every hour of class time. This could be reading, researching or preparing information for class time discussion. Overall, the Executive Business Curriculum encompasses approximately 50 hours of instruction. The candidate will be responsible for $500 towards the cost of the program.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the TSB Academy would include the following characteristics:

  • CEO or primary management of a healthy business
  • Up to $20 million in revenue
  • Seeking education to further their business and career to the next level
  • Candidate must be committed to two, 3 hour sessions per month for 12 months
  • Candidate must complete all required preparation equal to two hours for every one hour of class time
  • Candidate must participate in active listening of all sessions including questions and comments for instructors
  • Candidate must not miss more than two sessions in the 12 month time period
  • Candidate agrees to give feedback to the Academy at the end of the period to assess effectiveness

TSB Academy would consider accepting up to two people from the same company; e.g., CEO and another key player.

An existing Texas Security Bank relationship is not required.

Space is limited, so it may not be possible to accommodate all candidates.

TSB Academy Instructors

Craig Scheef currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Texas Security Bank. Craig is the founder of Texas Security Bank, committed to advancing the champions of free enterprise. Craig is a 30-year commercial banker, who is a trusted resource for owner man-aged businesses.

Casey Herr currently serves as the Market President for Garland and is a Senior Vice President for Texas Security Bank. Casey is a former entrepreneur and business owner who is passionate about working with owner-operators of small- to mid-sized companies.

Chris Jones currently serves as Chief Lending Officer, Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors for Texas Security Bank. Chris has been in the financial services industry for 30+ years, serving in various roles from Middle Market Lending to Business Development. He was President of Allied Capital Partners before becoming one of the Founders of Texas Security Bank.

Combining this training with decades of on-the-ground experience has allowed Mark to help hundreds of organizations shape their workforce into world-class leaders.

Reggie Marable is Vice President, Enterprise Corporate Sales for His experience includes 18 years at Sprint with roles in direct sales, sales leadership, solutions engineering, project management, network operations and customer service.

Ed McQueen is a partner with Bell Nunnally Attorney & Counselors. His practice focuses on corporate, commercial and real estate finance. Ed concentrates in the areas of complex commercial and real estate lending transactions, structured finance, corporate workouts, complex commercial transactions, debt restructuring, asset based finance, leveraged buyouts and syndicated loan transactions.

Terri Swain is the founder and managing partner of The HR Consultant, a Fort Worth based human resources consulting firm specializing in Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and employee relations. She has managed major reorganizations and staffing during mergers and acquisitions; designing and implementing performance management systems; developing start-up human resource plans; and developing corporate diversity initiatives.

Chris McKee is the managing partner of Venturity Financial Partners, a professional services firm providing accounting and finance services on an outsourced basis to small, growing companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.

Clint Pugh is the managing partner of Saville, Dodgen & Co. He is an accountant and trusted business advisor, providing proactive tax planning and compliance services for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts. He assists clients in various industries such as construction, real estate, professional services, oil & gas and agriculture.

Ben Parkey is the Dallas Market President of Texas Security Bank. He has over 20 years banking experience as a Commercial Banker and Team Leader. Ben is an active member of Conscious Capitalism and the Dallas Executive Educational Program.

Jeff Whittle is the Founder of Whittle & Partners, a Dallas-based consulting boutique dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, owners and leadership teams build better businesses. Jeff moderates deep-dive conversations around the challenges, opportunities and issues faced by entrepreneurs taking their business to the next level.

Corbett Guest, CEO of Imaginuity, has nearly 20 years of experience leading digital strategies and creative services for Fortune 500 clients. Imaginuity is a Dallas-based full-service digital marketing agency and consultancy, empowering organizations to build meaningful connections for the digital age.

Dave McOlgan is an IT Security and Compliance consultant with All Covered, a leading provider of IT compliance and cyber security services. Dave helps clients create an effective information security culture and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness through solid strategy and planning.

Felix Lozano, III is the Partner in Charge of Whitley Penn's Dallas office. Felix has more than 30 years of experience in auditing public and private companies. He oversees the Audit practice at the firm, with a focus on manufacturing, wholesale & retail, employee benefit plans and not-for-profit industries.
