Located in the Pleasant Grove community of Dallas, Cristo Rey of Dallas provides students from underserved communities a college preparatory education enabling them to become men and women of purpose and service. Global Student Entrepreneur Award Competition - EO Dallas 2020
GSEA is the premier awards program for students who own or operate a business while attending college or university. Student entrepreneurs compete against peers in a series of local and national qualifying rounds to make their way to the global finals. GSEA provides students an opportunity to learn from fellow entrepreneurs and form lasting relationships with both students and prominent entrepreneur judges. Chris Jones, Executive Vice President of Texas Security Bank was a judge for this competition.
Vogel Alcove Bye Bye Bags
Approximately 3,000 children in Dallas go to sleep each night without a home. Texas Security Bank is proud to partner with Vogel Alcove in 2018 to raise money for the Bye Bye Bags project. These bags provide additional nutrition when the children are away from Vogel Alcove, helping to bridge the gap between meals. Want to learn more ways to help?
Services of Hope
The vision of Services of Hope (SOH) is to transform under-performing schools into high-ranking schools in education excellence. Texas Security Bank has supported SOH for the 10th consecutive year by sponsoring their Christmas Ham program, allowing all adopted seniors, families, community’s partners, partner churches, schools and staff to receive a Christmas Ham. This year Texas Security Bank and its customers raised $4,950 to pay for ham, the meal for the event, raffle items and a Christmas shop for the kids to go shopping for their family members.
Garland Lions Clubs International
The goal of Garland Lions Clubs International is to empower volunteers to serve their communities and meet humanitarian needs. Shon Cass, Senior Vice President, Retail Banking and Treasury Management, has served on the leadership committee as club treasurer since 2012, and supported their fundraising projects.
Salvation Army
For the Salvation Army, Senior Vice President and Turtle Creek Market President Ben Parkey organized a day for our employees to prepare and serve lunch to people in need at the Salvation Army. At Christmas, we raised donations for the Salvation Army Angel Tree project.
Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail
Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail focuses on enhancing a 7.8 mile non-motorized hike and bike trail along the original Trinity River watercourse, adjacent to downtown Dallas. Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer Chris Jones has served on their board since 2010.
Stemmons Corridor Business Association
The Stemmons Corridor Business Association (SCBA) is a 34-year-old advocacy group for the area’s 5,000 businesses, focusing on public safety/crime prevention, transportation issues, Trinity River flood prevention and economic development. Chief Lending Officer Chris Jones currently serves on the board as the Treasurer.
Dallas CASA
Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a non-profit organization of volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in protective care. Senior Vice President, Mortgage Lending, Libby Smith and Chief Compliance Officer Bonnie Nichols volunteer in advocacy and making gifts for the children.
